Jerry Santoro, Mark Weinreich win Mountain Recreation board seats
Mountain Recreation voters elected Jerry Santoro and Mark Weinreich to four-year terms on the district’s board in Tuesday’s election.
Santoro claimed the highest vote total of 265 while Weinreich edged Katie Coakley by 241 votes to 236 to claim the other seat.
The results are unofficial. Write-in candidate Mike Ingo received two votes.
The newly elected board members will replace outgoing board members Tracy Erickson and Jason Cowles. They will join current members Tom Pohl, Tom Edwards and Joanna Kerwin, whose terms expire in 2027.
The newly elected members will take an oath of office before the next board meeting, which will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at the Gypsum Recreation Center. At the May 21 meeting, the board will select a president, vice president, secretary/treasurer, and assistant secretary/treasurer, each serving two-year terms.
